Yoga Walks

Individual and small group yoga walks in Vaucluse, Sydney.

During lockdown in 2020, here in Sydney we were for a short time, restricted to exercise within a 5km radius of our homes. Fortunately, I live in a location where there are plenty of walks in Nature on offer. It was at this time that I came up with the idea of  offering ‘yoga walks’.

In Vaucluse, we are fortunate to live within walking distance of a National Park, with both harbour and coastal views from the South Head of Sydney Harbour. There is a newly restored walking path beneath an ancient Moreton Bay Fig tree, complete with her gnarled roots unfurling below a handy path railing which offers support for some standing yoga poses.

A wooden boardwalk invites a short walking meditation, before the harbour view opens out to the wide horizon beneath the red and white stripey Hornby Lighthouse, with weathered sandstone rocks available for seated contemplation overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Walking is one of the most accessible movement activities we have access to.

It can be done anywhere, anytime, and does not require any special equipment (other than a pair of comfortable walking shoes, unless you feel like walking barefoot!)

“Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.”

Thich Nhat Hanh

All walks are 1 hour duration and take place within Vaucluse/ Watsons Bay.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat and bring water and a jacket.

There are a number of walking paths to chose from:

  • Gap Park Tram Pathway

  • Parsley Bay

  • Camp Cove

  • South Head

Walks may be booked individually or in a small group, cost is $40.00 per person.

Details of meeting location will be advised on booking.

Regardless of your personal intention for doing a yoga walk, there are clearly numerous benefits in doing so. What are you waiting for?
